Leading Dundee specialist engineering solutions company, Galloway Group Ltd, held an Open Day event at its Arrol Road headquarters yesterday (25 June) for potential young apprentices.
Galloway, which is looking to take on additional welding & fabrication apprentices in Autumn 2014, hosted sixteen interested young people and their parents at an event to learn more about the company – and the benefits of a modern apprenticeship with them.
The event included a tour of the factory, a presentation from one of the course leaders at Dundee & Angus College and a question and answer session.
Jim Mathieson, Galloway’s Managing Director, said “We were delighted to show local young people just how interesting, varied and rewarding a career in welding and fabrication can be – and how Galloway is leading the way in specialist engineering solutions across Scotland and beyond.”
He added “I was very impressed by the energy and enthusiasm of the young people who came along, many of whom are currently studying at school or college, as well as their determination to get started on a very rewarding career.”
